Mac Mouse Cursor on Windows 10: How to Switch Between Cursors Easily

An important aspect of making Windows look like macOS would be the cursors. Windows cursors are quite flat and boring while mac cursors are prettier and more animated. The cursors on both operating systems quite clearly define them. If you like the way the cursors look and behave on a Mac, you can get those Mac cursors on Windows. By using these 8 Windows 10 mouse tricks you can increase your productivity further.

To apply the cursors, go to Settings > Devices and click on Mouse in the left column. On the right, click on the Additional mouse options link.

How to Use Mac Mouse Cursor on Windows 10

To change options like how quickly the mouse pointer moves and whether your computer makes a sound when you turn on Mouse Keys, in the Ease of Access Center, under Control the mouse with the keyboard, click Set up Mouse Keys.

Like its predecessors, Windows 10 also ships with a bunch of mouse points. While there is nothing wrong with the default black and white cursor, the cursor has not seen a major update for years. Because of this, many users are bored of the default cursor and want to replace the default one with a cool cursor.

As said before, Windows 10 ships with a bunch of cursors and also allows you to change the default size and color of the mouse pointer, but most of the cursors available in Windows 10 look more or less the same.

My problem ist the mouse cursor! As soon as I'm moving the mouse into the 3D-workspace, the Windows mouse cursor turns into the (wanted) AutoCAD-crosshair, but the (unwanted) Mac-mouse cursor also appears in the foreground. Due to latency, the AutoCAD-cursor is lagging behind the Mac-cursor movement.

This also happens when I'm running a 3D-benchmark: when i move the mouse over the rendered scene, I can see the white Windows pointer, and after stopping and waiting for a second, the pointer turns black into the Mac pointer. Normally the white Windows pointer should just disappear ....

As an alternative to the MS Remote Desktop I've also tried the Parallels 2X RDP client and there is no such mouse issue - the pointer behaves like working directly on the DELL. Unfortunatly the 2X-client RDP-connects much slower than the MS RD :-)

Here is a "photoshopped screenshot" ... I just inserted the mouse cursor how it looks like on the screen when moving the mouse slowly to the lower right corner. The black Mac-Cursor is shown in the foreground while the 3D AutoCAD-crosshair is following with a little delay (input lag). Naturally, when the mouse is not moving, both cursors stop on the same spot. Moving the mouse out of the 3D-area into the toolbar/ribbons, the black Mac-Cursor disappears and the normal white Windows-Curors gets visible instead the 3D-crosshair - which is normal.

This article covers how to use Mac mouse cursor on Windows 10. Like Windows 10, there are default mouse cursors or pointers for Mac OS which are beautiful. From normal select (that beautiful black cursor) to busy, working in the background to precision select, text select to unavailable, link select to location select, diagonal size to move, and more, different Mac mouse cursors are available. If you want to use such cursors on Windows 10, then this article is helpful.

Step 6: Jump to Pointers tab and use the drop-down menu available for Scheme. There, you will see the Capitaine Cursors theme. Select it. Now you will see all the available Mac cursors under that theme.

If you are bored with the default or some other cursor schemes, then trying Mac mouse cursors on Windows 10 will be an interesting change. All the cursors for different actions look beautiful. Just install this cursor scheme and enjoy the benefits.

You have two different modes when using the New PC controls: Cursor Mode and Look Mode. Right-click on your laptop or mouse to use the Cursor/Look Toggle to toggle between the two modes.

I have a basic license and run synergy server on my MacBook Pro. I run synergy client on an nvidia tx2 dev board and also on a laptop with mint on ubuntu. Synergy works great. Exactly what I want. The mouse and keyboard work fine, copy-n-paste works fine. It's great.

One of the probable reasons for this problem is that the Smart Mouse option is set to "Optimize for games". It is the very feature that determines, whether mouse pointer is hovering over Virtual Machine window and automatically switches, if necessary, the area of its operation.

It is for production. My Architectural Cad software uses relative mouse movement to navigate around the model. When entering the walk-through mode, the viewpoint is not controllable. It moves so very fast in many directions. I also have 3D viz software with the same issue.

I know you say you'd rather not, but try using a different RDP client. I had this issue in a multi-nested scenario: attempting to RDP to a corporate machine from within my Windows 11 ARM desktop, which was running via Parallels in Mac OS on my Macbook Air M1. Both the MS RDP client that ships with Windows 11 and the MS RDP app from the Windows store had horrible problems with the mouse cursor moving 3-4x faster than on my "local" Win11 desktop. I then installed mRemoteNG and found that the cursor in my remote session moves at the same rate as on my "local" desktop. Problem solved!

Hi, Please note remote desktop only supports sending / using absolute input modes instead of relative mode. When an application that uses relative modes tries to interpret the Remote desktop mouse input - the result is that you will get very large vectors.

Hot corners quickly start certain actions when you move the cursor to screen corners. If you have hot corners enabled on your Mac, they probably help you automate your flow a lot. But they might also mess with your mouse pointer, so you should try disabling them.

Universal DIY fixes for any Mac misbehavior include resetting the SMC (responsible for lightning, fans, keyboard, and such), as well as resetting NVRAM (nonvolatile random-access memory). Each of these can help restore your Mac cursor.

The following defaults write command will disable the mouse acceleration curve in Mac OS X. This is entered into the Terminal once and can be reversed or adjusted by changing the -1 at the end. You generally must log out for the change to take effect:

Hit return for the mouse scale to change, then log out and in or reboot for it to take effect. You can technically change the scaling number to just about anything you want by adjusting the number on the end.

use steermouse.I have tried a lot but this one works like wonder. fully feel like windows if that is what you going for. and fine tweak about acceleration as well. also macro function and profile.

I have addressed the issues in the past by using a Wacom mouse on an Intuos tablet. I worked, but their mouse has a life expectancy of about a year. It ends up being a stupidly expensive and frustrating solution, just to kill the mouse acceleration.

How, exactly, does one go about changing the defaults in Terminal? I mean, I see that you have supplied the code. But is it simply a matter of opening Terminal, inserting your cursor in the little gray box area, pasting the code and hitting return? Or is there something more to it?

My personal opinion is that mouse acceleration decreased my presicion. My first tought when I plugged a mice into my MacBook was that it was unresponsive, while it felt way more natural when using the trackpad.

Multi cursor improvements Ctrl+D (Cmd+D on Mac) selects next occurrence of word under cursor or of the current selection Ctrl+K Ctrl+D moves last added cursor to next occurrence of word under cursor or of the current selection The commands use matchCase by default. If the find widget is open, then the find widget settings (matchCase / matchWholeWord) will be used for determining the next occurrence Ctrl+U (Cmd+U on Mac) undoes the last cursor action, so if you added a cursor too many or made a mistake, you can press Ctrl+U (Cmd+U on Mac) to go back to the previous cursor state. Adding cursor up or down (Ctrl+Alt+Up / Ctrl+Alt+Down) (Cmd+Alt+Up / Cmd+Alt+Down on Mac) now reveals the last added cursor to make it easier to work with multiple cursors on more than 1 viewport height at a time (i.e. select 300 lines and only 80 fit in the viewport).

VSCode developers have introduced a new setting, editor.multiCursorModifier, to change the modifier key for applying multiple cursors to Cmd + Click on macOS and Ctrl + Click on Windows and Linux. This lets users coming from other editors such as Sublime Text or Atom continue to use the keyboard modifier they are familiar with.

The Go To Definition and Open Link gestures will also respect this setting and adapt such that they do not conflict. For example, when the setting is ctrl/Cmd, multiple cursors can be added with Ctrl / Cmd + Click, and opening links or going to definition can be invoked with Alt +Click.

To add multiple cursors at any points in your file, including multiple ones on the same line, do Cmd (or Option)+Click anywhere you want, shown in this video. You may also search for text (Cmd+F) that repeats multiple times, then press Option+Return to add cursors at end of EACH word.

On Ubuntu, in order to enable multi-cursor clicking you will need to re-assign Alt+click first, by running the command below. This is because by default Ubuntu uses the shortcut itself and has it takes precedence.

"Actions/Disable Remote Input" is greyed out as an option. Remote computer is running Mojave, computer trying to access is running high sierra. I've run through the mac permissions and everything is set correct on both computers. Full disk access is allowed in Team Viewer Preferences. Unplugged the mouse on the remote computer, restarted both computers. Tried pressing the alt key. Enabled secondary click on mouse. 2ff7e9595c
